Visual Studio Node Version

After working in dotnet core for quite a while now, I have switched my toolset a bit. The majority of my time is spent in Visual Studio Code, Powershell. Now I have been assigned to work on a project using the full blown .Net Framework. Ok, no big deal - I like those tools as well. It will be a little different web project setup but it will be serving an Angular cli project out of it so there is much fun to be had.

Elastic Docker!

The other day I was at a workshop pre-event for .Net Fringe on using elasticsearch. The presenters handed out preloaded USB sticks with the things needed for the workshop. As I obtained one of these and pulled it to my machine I dug through the files. We were instructed to unzip a folder and run a .bat file to get elastic search up and running. Easy enough, right? I cracked the zip and did as instructed but and an error occurred. The instructor told me that they had never seen that error before, and directed me to an msi. I thought for a moment…and was hesitant…as I keep a relatively clean machine.
